Why Buffalo?
The population of buffalo has declined since the 1900s and has a need for revitalization of some of its facilities. Buffalo is in need of 21st century modernization.
The roof of the train station collapsed in 2016. This is one of the main reasons for modernization. The areas with the least modernization and technology tend to have low populations and are decreasing as well. Some of the cities are even close to abandonment because of the lack of modernization. A modernized train station would bring in more people from other areas through AMTRAK. One way to increase the number of people visiting this terminal would be to improve the architecture to make it more appealing for visitors.
-2006: The Buffalo Central Terminal has 20,000 visitors, breaking a record, due to Oktoberfest, the Buffalo Brewfest, and the Train Show. (This shows that people were visiting the train station due to its looks.
Existing train station designs
- Fulton Center: Downtown Manhattan
- Grand Central Terminal: Midtown Manhattan

What is wrong with Penn Station so that we can prevent these future errors?
-crowded
-confusing to navigate
-smelly
-too many train lines and departure boards
Ways to improve these aspects for the Buffalo Train Terminal
-technology
-help points
-cost (downgrade because the cost of rebuilding Penn Station is 3 Billion Dollars)
-Having apps/departure boards outside the train station in order to help save time for commuters.
